PRSA Teams with Global Alliance in Support of Global Ethics Month – February 2020
Feb. 14, 2020
In an age of disinformation and misinformation, the practice of ethical public relations has never been more critical worldwide. Advocating for the importance of truth, integrity and honesty, PRSA and Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management have partnered to promote Global Ethics Month throughout February 2020.
The founding principles of PRSA are steeped in PRSA's Code of Ethics; central core values that establish guidelines for upholding ethical actions, build trust with our communities and offer sound ethical counsel as communications professionals.
Global Ethics Month is currently taking place across more than 50 countries worldwide and will provide substantive educational activities in a coordinated campaign designed to support public relations professionals integrating ethics into their day-to-day practice. It will also provide a crucial global discussion platform related to fulfilling ethical responsibilities as professionals and anticipating ethical challenges as trusted advisors. The campaign #EthicsMatter will bring attention to the importance of ethics in communication in all areas of business, government, non-profit and education.
Ethical practice is the most important obligation of public relations professionals, guiding behaviors and the decision-making process. The pursuit of excellence with powerful standards is vital to the industry as a whole and fundamental to ethical conduct.
